Calling all healthcare assistants!
As part of our on-going expansion plans Ivory Homecare are always recruiting Health Care Assistants (HCA’s). Previous experience is desirable but not essential as full training will be given. However, a caring attitude, ability to be flexible with regard to working hours and arrangements including weekend work, willingness to work hard, aptitude to socially interact with those in your care and a good sense of humour are essential requirements for any successful candidate.
HCA’s will be asked to carry out various tasks in the service users home which could include assistance with washing and dressing or undressing, bed making, emptying commodes and general tasks involved with meal preparation and medication needs. A full job description would be issued to you on joining but if you would like to be sent this at application stage please contact us
Ivory Homecare would formally train you either themselves or using outside agencies in moving and handling, health and safety, safeguarding, basic food hygiene, first aid, fire risk and infection control and any other areas considered relevant. More experienced HCA’s would also be trained in catheter care, wound care, stoma care and dementia. All courses are certified. We will also arrange training for a Diploma in Health and Social Care unless you have passed this qualification or hold an equivalent NVQ
The company will carry out a Disclosure and Barring Service check (DBS) formerly Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) on all successful candidates. As the nature of the work is considered “exempt” under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 you are required to declare any “spent” convictions.
